Samuel Ortom has dismissed reports linking him to the 2027 presidential election, insisting that he has no plans to contest for the country’s highest office.
The former Benue State governor was reacting to a campaign-style poster circulating across social media, which claimed he was preparing to run for president in 2027.
In a statement released on Thursday through his media aide, Terver Akase, Ortom described the reports as false and misleading. The statement accused unnamed individuals of deliberately spreading misinformation to create unnecessary political speculation.
According to the statement, the former governor has repeatedly made it clear that he will not be seeking any political position in the next general election cycle.
The statement further urged members of the public to ignore the viral poster, describing it as a fabricated attempt to confuse citizens and push a false political narrative.
Samuel Ortom maintained that he has no presidential ambition and remains focused on his personal and private engagements outside elective politics.
