President of the Senate Godswill Akpabio has expressed confidence that Akwa Ibom State will produce the highest number of votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the South-South region during the 2027 general elections.
Akpabio made the declaration on Tuesday while addressing party leaders and supporters at a political gathering in Akwa Ibom State ahead of the next election season.
The Senate President said residents of the state are already benefiting from the policies and programmes of the Tinubu administration, adding that the people would show their appreciation through overwhelming support at the polls in 2027.
“We will deliver the highest votes for President Bola Tinubu in the entire South-South come 2027,” Akpabio stated during the meeting.
He also called on members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to remain united and continue working towards strengthening the party’s structure across Akwa Ibom and the wider South-South region.
Akpabio’s comments have since generated reactions online as political discussions surrounding the 2027 presidential election continue to gain momentum across the country.
Reacting to the statement, a social media user identified as @EketVoice said Nigerians would ultimately decide the outcome of the election through their votes when the time comes.
