Former Kano State Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso has expressed readiness to work with Peter Obi ahead of the 2027 presidential election as political alliances continue to take shape.
Speaking during an interview on Arise Television’s Prime Time programme, Kwankwaso revealed that talks about possible collaboration between both politicians are already ongoing under the platform of the Nigeria Democratic Congress.
According to him, both leaders are focused on addressing the growing insecurity in the country and restoring stability across Nigeria.
Kwankwaso said he and Obi have agreed on the need to confront insecurity directly, stressing that peace and safety must remain a top priority for any government seeking to move the country forward.
The former presidential candidate also disclosed that he would be willing to serve as vice president if the party decides to field a southern candidate for the 2027 race.
He explained that he would gladly support any arrangement aimed at strengthening the coalition and improving leadership in the country.
Kwankwaso further described a possible alliance between himself and Obi as one of the strongest political combinations capable of delivering positive change in Nigeria.
His comments come amid increasing coalition discussions ahead of the next general election, with both politicians recently joining the Nigeria Democratic Congress after leaving their former political parties.
