The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, has taken a swipe at former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi, criticising what he described as Obi’s frequent movement from one political party to another.
Speaking during his monthly media briefing on Wednesday, Wike accused Obi of lacking consistent leadership qualities, arguing that he tends to abandon political parties whenever internal challenges arise instead of staying to resolve them.
He referenced Obi’s political journey from the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and later to the Labour Party, suggesting a pattern of instability in his political choices.
Wike also extended his criticism to the Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, questioning his position as Chairman of the PDP Governors Forum, which he sarcastically referred to as a “one-member forum.”
According to him, political leadership should be about stability and commitment, not shifting alliances when situations become difficult.
In his remarks, Wike mocked Obi’s political transitions, claiming he has moved across different parties in search of better opportunities rather than building strong party structures.
