Fresh uncertainty has emerged surrounding the political future of Sim Fubara after the Rivers State governor reportedly walked out of an APC screening exercise in Abuja on Sunday.
Fubara arrived at the screening venue located at the Plateau State Governors Lodge at about 3:15 p.m., but sources at the scene said the governor left shortly after appearing before the committee. His sudden exit immediately sparked speculation about possible tensions surrounding the process.
Speaking with journalists after the exercise, Ajibola Basiru, who also serves as secretary of the screening committee, declined to give details about the governor’s appearance or the outcome of the session.
Basiru explained that every individual involved in the process was expected to appear before the committee as part of standard procedures, stressing that no final decision or report had been released yet.
According to him, the committee would only prepare and submit its official report after concluding meetings with all concerned parties.
The development has further fueled conversations around the ongoing political crisis involving Governor Fubara, with many observers now waiting to see what direction the APC screening committee’s final report may take.
