Nigerian singer Mr Eazi has sparked conversation in the music scene after revealing that he deliberately avoids listening to music from fellow superstar Burna Boy in order to protect his own unique sound.
Speaking about his artistic process, Mr Eazi explained that although he is a genuine fan of Burna Boy’s music, he prefers not to listen to him too often because he fears it could unconsciously influence his style.
“I don’t like listening to Burna Boy’s songs at all, and I’ve said that before. I’m a real fan of his music,” he said. “If I listen to him too much, I might start sounding like him. I don’t want my sound to begin resembling his.”
